The archive collects modern edition of sheet music from the 17:th and 18:th century, many of them not available in any other modern form, transcribed from original printed or handwritten sources. Lilypond, an open source project, is the typesetting system used for editing scores in PDF format. (To view a PDF file you may need an appropriate reader). The music selection follows the personal taste and propensity of the editor. While the edited scores have been frequently reviewed after private and public performances, nonetheless the editor declines any responsibility regarding the accuracy of the published material. Ancient sources frequently report ambiguities and typos and it is not always easy finding an unquestionable interpretation. In addition, there may be transcription mistakes, even if the editor writes Lilypond code with scrupulous patience. Furthermore, Lilypond limitations, for instance on cadences or on figured bass notation, make it difficult rendering particular music frames. Giannantonio Ippolito, a professional baroque flute player, cooperates with the editor as a musical supervisor of the published materials.
